Fifteen years ago, tragedy struck the nation on September 11. Four large U.S. passenger airplanes were hijacked by members of the terrorist group al-Qaeda. Two were flown into the World Trade Center Twin Towers, one hit the Pentagon and a fourth crashed in a Pennsylvania field after passengers fought with the hijackers. READ MORE

The luncheon was hosted by Lodi Community Outreach, a program of Lodi Funeral Home.Each year, local veteran organizations hold remembrances to honor those who paid the ultimate price for freedom. Tokay Stitch and Quilt Guild sews bedding for foster youths

For several months, the Tokay Stitch N Quilt Guild of Lodi has been working on a community project to show support to local youth that are currently in foster care. Tokay Guild members gathered once each month to work on over 50 handmade pillow cases and a number of handmade quilts as part of the "Casa Project."
