Obituary of Gustave Louis Foucher

Gustave Louis Foucher of Lodi, California, peacefully passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 in his home at the age of 93. Gus was born in Normandy, France on July 25, 1927 and served in WWII as a French paratrooper. He relocated to Morocco Casablanca, met his wife Bertha, and started his family there with the birth of his first two children. Gus returned to France after the war, then Canada and had 7 children before relocating to Lodi, California in 1965 where he and Bertha had their eighth child. Gus worked construction and then was hired as a sausage maker at Pure Sausage before opening his own local family business The Country Sausage Kitchen in 1987 in Lodi, CA. Gus enjoyed spending time socializing with others and a good glass or two of red wine. He always opened his home to others for a drink, a meal, and friendly conversation. He belonged to and was active in various clubs to include Sacramento Petanque Club. Gus is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bertha; his sons, Gaston, Valentine, Serge, and his son, Roger who passed away days after his father Gus. He is survived by his children, Catherine Moitoso, Marcel Foucher, Carol Bowers, and Gus Foucher Jr.; grandchildren, Christine, Michael, Christopher, Wesley, Nicole, Jennifer, Richie, and Jason; and 10 great grandchildren.
