Obituary of Delores Jean Simpfenderfer

Delores Goehring Simpfenderfer, born January 25, 1938, passed away July 10, 2021 after a brief illness. As a native and lifelong resident of Lodi, she was happily married to Leo Simpfenderfer from 1957 until his passing in 2018. She was employed and retired from Lodi Unified School District as the secretary at Leroy Nichols School. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and traveling. She was a church and community volunteer, most recently at the Lodi Public Library and the sewing circle group at Zion Lutheran Church. She will be greatly missed by the Goehring and Simpfenderfer families, as well as many friends. Visitation will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on Saturday, July 17th, from 1 to 5 p.m. The funeral is Monday, July 19th at 9:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Lodi, with burial immediately following at Cherokee Memorial Park. A light lunch will be served at the church following the burial. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Vincent) Pfeiffer; son, Greg Simpfenderfer; her brother, Dennis (Noel) Goehring; two grandchildren, Danielle (Leonard) Bennett and Jennifer Schmeck; and six great grandchildren.
