Dennis (Denny) Hogg August 8, 1958- August 6, 2021 Lodi resident Denny Hogg passed away on Friday August 6th. Denny was born in San Mateo,California and grew up in Cupertino. As a boy Denny loved playing baseball under the street lights in his close knit neighborhood on Kentwood Drive, his friendly and playful demeanor led to lifelong friendships . Denny served in the United Sates Coast Guard for 25 years, throughout his military career Denny had several tours of duty. The Alert stationed in Cape May New Jersey, Yeomans School in Petaluma, California ,and crossing the equator aboard The Glacier out of Long Beach, California. His remaining tours spanned Northern and Central California including Yerba Buena Island, Coast Guard Island Alameda, and the USCG Training Center Petaluma. Dennys favorite posting was at the US Coast Guard Station Monterey where he served as the Career Enlisted Advisor from ’92-’96. He lived with his family at the Point Pinos Lighthouse Quarters A and always considered the Monterey Peninsula their home. Denny received numerous Commendation medals during his service and retired in 2001 as Senior Chief Petty Officer, Compliance Inspector on Coast Guard Island Alameda. For the last 18 years Denny worked for the United Sates Postal Service as a rural carrier in Lodi. The relationships he made with the community along his route is what he loved the most. Dennys amazing character, humor, and kindness were recognized by his customers every day. Denny loved to travel with his wife Lorrie, visiting towns along the Pacific Ocean, Yosemite, LakeTahoe as well as Seattle and various baseball parks across the United States. Denny was a lifelong Giants fan, watching them play AND win brought him lots of joy. Denny also loved to golf, bbq, drinking beer, and laugh with family and friends. Denny was known as “BopBop” by his grandkids who they adored and gave him so much happiness. Denny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lorrie Hogg of Lodi. His daughters and sons in law Abbie and Jonathan Ferrera of Pacific Grove;Jillian and Michael Andrade of Seaside; Grandson Giorgio Ferrera ;Granddaughters Estelle Ferrera and Lennox Andrade;his sisters Cathy Hogg; Deborah Evans of Livermore; and his brother Robert Hogg of Jamestown. A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Friday September 3rd at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside, California. Arrangements are being handled by California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside, California.
