Obituary of Melissa Renee Ruiz

Melissa Ruiz, a long-time resident of Lodi, California born on May 13, 1972, has entered into rest on September 6, 2021. She passed away peacefully at the age of 49 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Melissa was a 1990 graduate of Lodi High School. She met the love of her life, Sam Ruiz, in 1995 and they went on to wed on January 18, 1997, in Lodi. Melissa was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (Precious) with a generous heart. She treasured her family and cherished every moment with them. As we all know, Melissa was the life of every party and the queen of the dance floor. Her fun-loving personality was contagious to everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking, wine tasting, playing Bunco, and taking Harley rides with her husband, Sam. Melissa was thoughtful of others, helped without wanting anything in return, and gave selflessly. She will be truly missed and never forgotten. Melissa is survived by her husband of 24 years, Sam; her children, Sammy Jr., Jaclyn (Franky), Sirena, Raymond, Richard (Destiny); her grandchildren, Sammy III, Jaelyn, Julian, Julissa, Jorlyn, Evangelina, and Jasiah; her godchildren, Violet and Nevaeh; her mother, Margo Rivera; her stepdad, Joe Gomez; her siblings, Tony Rivera and Vanessa Gomez; her honorary sister, BCF, Yesenia De La Cruz. She is preceded in death by her father, Fernando Rivera; her brother, Joey Gomez.
