Bob J. Simpson, 76, of Lodi, died November 24th in Sacramento. He was born June 5, 1927 in Grover, Wyoming. Mr. Simpson moved to Grass Valley in 1948. He and his wife lived in Boise, Idaho, until moving to Lodi in 1977. He was a member of the Merchant Marines. He was a retired truck driver for Cherokee Freight Lines. He was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and golfing. He is survived by his sons, Dan Smith, Auburn, Richard Simpson, of Lodi and Bobby J. Simpson Jr., of Oregon; daughters, Debbra Schelinder of Idaho and Shelly F. Newman of Galt.; brothers, Larry Simpson of Elko, and Tom Simpson of Loomis; sisters Valoy Brown of Roseville and Penny Westlake of Roseville and Joanne Carpenter of Nevada; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preced by his wife Betty J. Simpson on February 25, 2002.Services will be private and there is no visitation.
