CHARLES GLENN PRICE, 89, of Galt, passed away at his Galt residence on Sunday, November 2, 2003, after a long illness. A native of Dayton, Washington, he was born on February 28, 1914, the son of Charles and Luella Price. He was a resident of Galt for the past 11 years. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic after 50 years of service with various companies. His profession often led him to travel around the world and most of the continental United States. On October 12, 1946, he married Hilda R. Whitney, who became his wife of 57 years. Mr. Price was U.S. Army WWII Veteran who served in Europe with the 132 Ordnance Battalion of the celebrated Tenth Armored Division. He was member of the Galt Senior Citizens Center, the Galt Post Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Western and National Chapters of the Tenth Armored Division Association. Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Hilda Ruth Price of Galt; two sons, Raymond Price of Half Moon Bay and Bill Price of Oakley; 2 grandchildren, Lisa Price of Martinez and Raymond Price, Jr. of Half Moon Bay; sisters-in-law, Annie Larson of New Hampshire and Katherine Hartley of Eureka, CA; and several other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at Galt Funeral Home, 702 B Street in Galt. Reverend Chris Larson, officiating. A graveside committal with military honors will be held at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, 5150 E. Pine Street in Lodi following the chapel service.
