ALVINA ALLEN (ALVINA WAGEMAN) Alvina Allen, 86, of Lodi, entered into rest on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at a Lodi hospital after a long illness. A native of Gaekel, North Dakota, she was born on September 17, 1917, the daughter of John and Barbara Geigle. Alvina came to the Victor area with her family as an infant. She attended local schools in the Lodi and Victor areas and lived here most of her life. During her youth, she worked at various seasonal agricultural jobs. In 1954, she went to work as a food service department worker for Lodi Unified School District, until her retirement in 1983, attaining the position of food service director. She was a devoted wife and mother, who cherished the company of family and friends. She was active as a volunteer at Hutchins Street Square and the Lodi Historical Society. She was well liked for her friendly and amicable personality. She was a avid gardener and prized tomato grower. She enjoyed baking and cooking German delicacies. Mrs. Allen is survived by her son, James Wageman and his wife Rebecca of Georgetown, CA; daughter, Carol Eisenhower and her husband Thomas of Fair Oaks; two sisters, Rose Frame of Lodi and Irene Smith of Georgetown; and two brothers, John Geigle of Morada and William Geigle of Lodi. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Wageman in 1981, Ernest Allen in 1989; and two brothers, Henry and Alvin Geigle. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 10, 2003 at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Avenue, Lodi, CA. Rev. Father Richard Matters of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, officiating. Visitations will be from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday and Thursday, October 8th and 9th at Lodi Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, 5150 E. Pine Street in Lodi following the chapel service. A virtual register book can be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where friends and family can share their memories and view a memorial picture board. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice. Lodi Funeral Home entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
