Mary Bodner was born May 12, 1911 in Czechoslovakia. She passed away September 15, 2003 in Lodi, California at the age of 92. Mrs. Bodner and her late husband Joseph Bodner were Grape Farmers in Lodi for over 30 years. Prior to settling in Lodi, the couple began their farming career in Hayward in 1949 with an Apricot Farm, the farm evolved into Bodner's Nursery which they ran until moving to Lodi in 1973. Mary was a devoted parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Lodi, and had been deeply involved with the Carmelite Association in Hayward. She also enjoyed working in her gardens at home. She is survived by her sons; Larry Bodner of Lodi, and Jeff Bodner of Fremont, her daughter; Jeannie McBurney of Alameda. 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Bodner and 1 sister. Friends may visit Thursday from Noon until 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Friday at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave, Lodi, and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church (corner of Church and Walnut, Lodi) with interment at Lodi Memorial Cemetery immediately following.
