Obituary of Juanita V. Fairfax

Juanita V. Fairfax, 86, of Lodi, entered into rest on Sunday, September 7, 2003, at a Lodi care center after a long illness. She was born Juanita V. Rader on July 8, 1917 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Anthony W. Rader and Iona E. Duvall Rader. Mrs. Fairfax attended local schools in Keokuk, where she graduated from high school. On November 10, 1940, she married Emerson Fairfax. In 1950, the couple moved to Lodi, where they owned and operated the Flying A service station for about 15 years, when they became the original owners of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Parlor. Mrs. Fairfax was an avid reader. She enjoyed dancing and listening to Big Band music. Mrs. Fairfax is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Emerson Fairfax of Lodi; Brother-in-law, Charles Harmon of Lodi; Sister-in-Law, Betty rader of Lodi; three nephews, Michael Harmon and Doug Rader of Lodi, and Lynn Rader of Sutter Creek; and five great-nephews and great-nieces, Lori Harmon of Sacremento, Randy Harmon, Jason Rader, Nathaniel Rader and Adam Rader, all of Lodi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony W. Rader and Iona E. Duvall Rader; her sister, Maxine R. Harmon; her brother, Anthony Rader, Jr., and her nephew, Anthony Rader III. Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Avenue in Lodi. Graveside Committal Service will be follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. Visitations will be on Wednesday, September 10th, from 1:00 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
