Carol Goodell, 82, of Woodbridge, entered into rest on August 12, 2003, at a Lodi hospital. A native of Rochester, New York, she was born on December 25, 1920, the daughter of Leon Henderson and Mable Van Dyke. In 1923, her family moved to Geneva, New York, where she was raised and attended local schools. After high school, Carol attended courses in dental health, and became registered dental hygienist in 1941. On April 25, 1942, she married Charles Goodell in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 1956 they moved to the Los Angeles area. She led a successful career as a registered dental hygienist, working at Moffet Naval Air Base in Mountain View, California. In 1996, she moved to San Joaquin County, and made her home in Woodbridge. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church of Lodi, and the Association of Porcelain Artists. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Mr. Charles E. Goodell of Woodbridge; four daughters, Arlene Mattson of Cardiff, CA; Barbara Vice of Acampo; Joann Richardson of Rocklin, and Jeanmarie Homen of Livermore; one sister, Stella Hoard of Panama City Beach, Florida; and ten grandchildren: Aaron Mattson of Los Osos; Micha, Jonathan and Jared Mattson, all of Cardiff; Nicholas, Nathaniel, Abigail and Hanamae Richardson of Rocklin; and Elizabeth and Mark Homen of Livermore. She is also survived my many other loving relatives and friends. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 17, 2003 at Grace Presbyterian Church of Lodi, 10, Mills Avenue in Lodi. Rev. Dr. David Hill, officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, August 18, 2003 at Paradise Cemetery District in Paradise, California. To honor Mrs. Goodell's memory, contributions may be sent to: Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1401 Halyard Drive, Suite 130, West Sacramento, CA 95691. Lodi Funeral Home entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
