Obituary of Agnes Goehring

Agnes M. Goehring, 89, of Lockeford, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at her residence of natural causes. She was born on June 30, 1914 in Java, South Dakota, the daughter of Gottlieb Zeller and Elizabeth Bender. Mrs. Goehring grew up in South Dakota, where local schools. In September 1937, she married Sam L. Goehring, and moved to Stockton where the couple made their home. She lived in Stockton until 1944, when they moved to Lockeford. Together with her husband, they owned and operated the family business, Goehring Pump and Irrigation in Lockeford, now operated by second-generation owners, Lyle and Ron Goehring. Mrs. Goehring was a long-time member of Ebenezer Congregational Church in Lodi and the Rebekka's Lodge in Lockeford. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She is survived by her two sons; Lyle W. Goehring of Acampo and Ron Goehring of Lockeford; 2 granddaughters, Sheila and Deborah Goehring of Sacramento; a brother, Erwin Zeller of South Dakota; and a sister, Betty Beil of North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam L. Goehring in 1990, and her sister, Lillian Pfitzer. Friends are invited to attend a Garveside Committal Service at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Harmony Grove Cemetery in Lockeford, with Rev. Dr. Wayne Kildall of Ebenezer Congregational Church of Lodi officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
