Obituary of Arthur Greene

Arthur Greene, Sr. was born June 10, 1927 in Linden, TX. He passed away August 4, 2003 in Stockton, California at the age of 76. Mr. Greene was raised and educated in Linden, TX. He is a veteran of the US Army serving as a Firefighter and a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal. In 1946 he met Clora Jordan; the couple married in 1948 and made their home in Texarkana. In 1955 they moved to Saginaw, Michigan where they lived until 1979 when they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1983 they returned briefly to Texarkana, and finally settled in Stockton, California in 1992. Arthur worked briefly for General Motors as a factory worker until completing his P.O.S.T. certification and beginning a 22 year career as a Michigan State Trooper. He was also the Security Manager for Arlan's Department Stores and Sears. He enjoyed reading, travel and flower and vegetable gardening, he loved to detail and restore cars and was a longtime member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Clora Greene of Stockton, Son and Daughter-in-law; Arthur Greene, Jr. and Monica Greene of Concord, Daughter; Barbara Greene of Stockton, Son and Daughter-in-law; Michael and Delphine Greene of Michigan, Daughter and Son-in-law; Vickie and Doug Davis of Stockton. 11 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren, his brother; Luther Green, and his sister; Nellie Johnson, both of Texas. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Rufus and Launce Green and his sisters; Pearlene Anderson and Olean Harden. Friends may visit Saturday from Noon until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi. With interment at Lodi Memorial Cemetery immediately following.
