Gerald Heaney, 77, Of Lodi, entered into rest on August 3, 2003, of natural causes, in a local hospital following along illness. He was born on April 6, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Heaney was a retired machinist. He was employed by General Mills in Chicago before transferring to General Mills in Lodi in 1984. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He enjoyed carpentry, wood working and traveling. Mr. Heaney is survived by his wife, Hazel Heaney of Lodi; sons, Michael and Heaney and John Donavon; daughters, Patricia Heaney, Virginia Phillips and Joan Slimski; stepsons, Ron and Larry Buffington; stepdaughter, Teena Gibson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Gerald and William Heaney; brothers, James and Donald Heaney; and sisters, Irene Pavoggi, Marilyn Dempsey and Joan Heaney. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at Lodi Funeral Home, with the Rev. Father Alfred Alexander from St. Anne's Catholic Church officiating. Committal will be private. The will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Lodi Funeral Home entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
