El naci el 17 de junio de 1950 en el Rancho Baluarte en el Estado de Jalisco en Mexico, hijo de Ipolito Gomez y Pabla Garcia. Don Fidel Gomez trabaj como obrero de agricultura por muchos aos antes de resultar ser incapacitado en el ao 1994. El fu residente de Acampo por 12 aos y previamente residi en Walnut Grove por 6 aos. El disfrutaba dedicarle su tiempo a sus familia, sus hijos y nietos. Tambien le gustaba cuidar de su jardin y de sus arboles. Le sobreviven, su esposa de 27 aos, Olimpia Gomez de Acampo; hijos, Alma Garcia de Lodi, Fidel Gomez, Jr, Minerva Jimenez, Alfonso Gomez, Jesus Gomez todos de Acampo; nietos, Jazmin Valdez, Jose Manuel Jimenez, Jocelyn Jimenez, Jimmy Jimenez, Johnny Jimenez, Jacquelyn Garcia, Jose A. Garcia, Karina Gomez y Katie Gomez, todos de Acampo; su padre, Ipolito Gomez de Mexico; and hermanos, Monico Gomez de Mexico, Josefina Garcia de Isleton, Thomasa Sandoval de Mexico y Baudelia Gomez de Isleton. La Misa de Sepultura Cristiana sera celebrada a las 10:00 A.M. el jueves, 17 de julio de 2003 en la Iglesia Catlica Santa Ana, 215 W. Walnut Street en Lodi. Sepelio en el Cemeterio Cherokee Memorial Park en Lodi. Visitaciones seran el mircoles, 16 de julio desde las 12 del mediodia hasta las 8:00 P.M. La Funeraria Lodi Funeral Home esta a cargo de los arreglos funerarios. ENGLISH VERSION Fidel Gomez, 53, of Acampo, passed away on July 12, 2003 at a Lodi hospital. He was born on June 17, 1950 in Rancho El Baluarte, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Ipolito Gomez and Pabla Garcia. Mr. Gomez worked as a farm laborer for many years until he became disabled in 1994. He was a resident of Acampo for the past 12 years, and was former resident of Walnut Grove for 6 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and caring for his garden and trees at his Acampo home. Mr. Gomez is survived by his wife of 27 years, Olimpia Gomez of Acampo; children, Alma Garcia of Lodi; Fidel Gomez, Jr, Minerva Jimenez, Alfonso Gomez, Jesus Gomez all of Acampo; Grandchildren, Jazmin Valdez, Jose Manuel Jimenez, Jocelyn Jimenez, Jimmy Jimenez, Johnny Jimenez, Jacquelyn Garcia, Jose A. Garcia, Karina Gomez and Katie Gomez, all of Acampo; his father, Ipolito Gomez of Mexico; and siblings, Monico Gomez of Mexico, Josefina Garcia of Isleton, Thomasa Sandoval of Mexico and Baudelia Gomez of Isleton. Friends are invited to join the family in the recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 16th, 2003 at Lodi Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 17th, 2003 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 215 W. Walnut Avenue, Lodi, CA. Following the Mass, a graveside committal service and interment will be at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 16th, from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M. at Lodi Funeral Home. Lodi Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
