Obituary of Eluterio Alaniz Lopez

Long time Lodi resident Eluterio (Terry) Alaniz Lopez passed away on Saturday March 2nd In Lodi, CA. after a sudden and unexpected illness. He was born on January 15, 1939 to parents Antonio and Maria Lopez, he was the 3rd of 11 children. 

Terry had moved to Lodi in the year of 1964 and resided in Lodi since, with the exception of a temporary 17 year relocation after his retirement to Ensenada, Mexico. He was able to spend his retirement doing what he enjoyed most, fishing. 

He was a truck driver for 32 years, mainly transporting agriculture throughout California. He retired from a local trucking company, Lodi Truck Service. 

Terry was a joyful and caring soul, his laughter and love for life was contagious. He loved and cared for his family. His love was not limited to his immediate family, his generosity and love was extended to his many nephews, nieces, friends and all who had been blessed to have known him.  Terry enjoyed Fishing, casino games, music, planting trees, a good glass of wine with good conversation and company.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Maria Lopez, sisters Amelia Ramirez, Emily Robles, Josie Hernandez, Bertha Rodriguez and brothers Antonio (Tony) Lopez and Noah Lopez. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 63 years, Rita Lopez, his 2 sons Pat Lopez and Terry Lopez, and 2 daughters Sandra Willhite and Tammy Villarreal.  He also had been blessed with 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave in Lodi, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m.The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14th at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 215 W. Walnut St, in Lodi, with committal to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Ln, in Lodi.
