Obituary of Barbara Jean Flockhart

Barbara Jean Flockhart (Lea), 93, passed away on Dec 24, 2020 in Lodi, CA. Born Barbara Wessa on Oct 3, 1927 in Lynwood, CA, she was the only child of Arthur Perry Wessa and Gladys Atlanta Harding. The family later moved to Weaverville, CA where Barbara graduated valedictorian of her high school. She then attended UC Berkeley where she met and married her first husband of 25 years, Ralph Lea. They moved to Lodi and started a family. Barbara graduated from Sacramento State University and was a career teacher working at: Lockeford, Clements, Alpine/Victor, Leroy Nichols, Lakewood and Washington Schools. She was a community leader of Alpine-Victor 4-H. Barbara was active in local politics and made changes that benefited our community. Barbara loved her koi fish, cats, travel and dancing: square, ballroom and Western. She met the love of her life Jack Flockhart at a singles dance and the two were married in 1985. Barbara and Jack traveled the world together. Barbara is survived by her husband Jack Flockhart, her five children: Warren (Ruth) Lea, Susan Lea, Patty Lea Parkin, Nancy (Bill) Schmer and Jane Lea (Dan Holden); six grandchildren: Jennifer Kirkle, Star (Chris) Read, Luke Tooker, Anna Passadori (Jonathan Miller), Hannah Holden (Brett) Jensen and Mike Holden; and five great-grandchildren: Dylan Kirkle, Summer Read, Phoenix Miller, Poppy Miller and Levi Jensen.
