Born April 26, 1974, in Stockton, CA to Basil and Dolores Atad — Jeffrey graduated from Stagg High School in 1992 and shortly after served in the United States Marine Corps from 1992-1996. During his time in the Marine Corps, he served as a Field Radio Operator and completed Amphibious Reconnaissance Training in 1994. He was stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (formerly Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay). After his service in the USMC, he went on to serve in the United States Army from 1998-2011: Jeffrey joined the Army as a Multi-Channel Transmission Operator(25Q) and was stationed in Hanau, Germany from 1998-2001. In 2001 Jeffrey was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC with the 82nd Airborne Division. During this time Jeffrey deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in 2003-2004. In 2007 he attended the Special Forces Qualification Course at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School in Ft Bragg, NC. During the course, he attended and completed Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS), Special Operations Language Training in Arabic, Survivor, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Level C High-Risk Course (SERE-C), Small Unit Tactics (SUT), Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course, and Special Forces Communications Sergeant Course (18E). Jeffrey graduated from the Special Forces (SF) course as a Communications Sergeant and became a US Army Green Beret in 2008. He served with the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in Afghanistan in 2009 and continued serving until 2011. At the end of Jeffrey’s career, he was the Senior Communications Sergeant of his team. His Awards and Decorations include: The Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (x4) Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (x4) Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal National Defense Service Medal Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Global War on Terrorism Service Medal Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal NATO Service Medal Non-commissioner Professional Development Service Ribbon Army Service Ribbon Overseas Service Ribbon Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) Senior Parachutist Badge Special Forces Combat Diver Badge Special Forces Tab Jeffrey was not only an elite soldier but also interested in furthering his education. After his military service, he went on to earn two Bachelor of Arts’s Degrees in English and Sociology from the University of the Pacific. Then obtained his Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. As a Pacific student, he worked in the Veterans Resource Center and was the President of the Student Veterans Organization on campus. Jeffrey joined Pacific full-time in 2018 as the Coordinator of the Veterans Resource Center and in 2019 as the Transfer, Veteran, & Military Affiliates Academic Advisor. Jeffrey had a passion for helping fellow Veterans and giving back to the Stockton Community. He was a loyal friend to many and was passionate about riding his motorcycle. He was a kid at heart and a Disney fanatic! He loved watching Disney movies with his family and would visit the parks yearly. He was also a collector of many things including GI Joes, Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney action figures. Jeffrey was a loving son, brother, father, husband, and grandfather. Jeffrey is survived by his Parents Basil and Dolores Atad, his Wife Eliane, Children; Dillan, Noah, Eyan, Ronaldo, Jannie, Isabella, Michael, and grandchildren Nikolas and Leonidas, his Sisters; Gina Saxton and Nekol Atad, and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and military and motorcycle brothers.
