Willa Dean Young was born on August 14,1945 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to
Sherman and Katy Burton. She was one of five children. She was raised in
Thornton, California by her grandparents. Willa attended Galt High School.
During the 1970s, Willa became an avid tournament bowler and traveled
throughout California to compete. Her best single-game score was 263.
Over the years, she worked as a beautician and a certified nurse's aide.
Although Willa enjoyed all genres of music, Elvis Presley and Merle
Haggard were at the top of her list. Willa passed away during the early
morning hours of her 77th birthday, August 14, 2022. She is survived by her
son Troy Conner, her daughter Dana Kimmel (Ken), grandsons Rich,
Randy, and Robby Kimmel, grandson Doug Conner, granddaughter Amelia
Conner, five great grandchildren, her sister Mary Lou (Bev) Burton, and
nieces Avonne Pfeifer (Mark), Lisa Worland (Clint), and Rachael Pacheco
(Frank). Visitation will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on Saturday, August
20 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend a
graveside service at Lodi Memorial Park and Cemetery, 5750 East Pine
Street at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2022.
