Bruce Andrea Burlington, 96, of Lodi California, died on the morning of March 15th. Bruce was born on
October 18th,1926, to Earl E and Jennie A Burlington at Mason Hospital in Lodi California.

Bruce attended St. Annes School and graduated from Lodi High School in 1944. He joined the US Navy
and was discharged in 1946. He then attended Stockton College where he met the love of his life,
Norma J. Burlington. They were married on October 10, 1948.
Bruce was a member of St. Annes Catholic Church in Lodi and St. Joaquim Catholic Church in Lockeford.
He was a member of Lodi Legion Post 22, IOOF Lodge 259, and Senior Advisor to Hutchins Street Square
Foundation.
Bruce was a past member of 20-30 club, Western Agricultural Chemical Association, a founding member
of the Hutchins Street Square Foundation Board, California Association of Pest Control Advisors and Lodi
Industrial Group. Bruce was a founder and director of Tokay Savings and Loan Association.
Bruce began his career in Carson City Nevada by purchasing Burlington Shoe Store that was founded by
his grandfather in the 1870’s. Bruce and his brother Ralph purchased San Joaquin Sulphur in 1957.
Bruce remained active in the business until his death.
In 2012 Bruce was inducted into the San Joaquin County Agricultural Hall of Fame.
Bruce is preceded in death by both his parents, Earl E. and Jennie A. Burlington, his two brothers Earl E.
Jr. and Ralph A. Burlington.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 74 years, Norma J. Burlington, his three children, son Thomas and spouse
Julia Burlington, daughter Jan and spouse Mark Chandler, son David and spouse Barbara Burlington. His
is also survived by five grandchildren, Anne Nakagawa, Beth Calder, David Chandler, Laura Brown and
Grace Burlington. He is survived by three great grandchildren, Mikael Tiku, Taylor Calder, and Johnny
Calder.
