Obituary of Angie M. Mitchell

Angie Mae Benjamin was born in Italy, Texas on February 19th 1922 to Doshia and Albert Benjamin. Doshia and Albert Benjamin shared eleven children, and they all relocated to Wewak, Oklahoma.

Angie Mae attended elementary school. In her teenage years she attended Douglas High School and graduated in 1940. Three years later Angie Mae moved to Tracy, California. Shortly after she met and married Eddie Smith Senior in 1944. To this union they shared one son by the name of Eddie Smith Junior. In 1950 the family relocated to Stockton, California and Angie Mae united with the Friendly Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late J.C. Williams. A few years later she became a member of the Wayside Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late elder L.C. Lewis.

Angie Mae made the Cornerstone of God in Christ her official church home under the leadership of Pastor Steven Clark. Angie Mae was employed by the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson for many years was a housekeeper for San Joaquin General Hospital for eight-teen years before retiring.

Angie Mae’s late husband Eddie Smith Senior and son Eddie Smith Junior both preceded her in death. Angie Mae’s parents and her ten siblings also preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory; three grandchildren, Anthony Ray Smith who lives in Sacramento, California, Anthony Ronald Smith who lives in Stockton, California, Margo Lynn Smith who lives in Maricopa, Arizona, Jenniba Ramsey who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada and Tquisha Waller who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Great-Grandchildren, Anthony Smith Junior, Samuel Smith, Shanice Smith, La’tayshia Roy, Mario Rose, Kareem Rose-Benton, Tony Conner, Charles Taylor, Josiah Taylor, Jenna Ramsey, Kenny Ramsey Junior. Great Great-Grandchildren, Jaheim Smith, Ei’Mora Roy, Ei’Moni Roy, Marcello Rose, and Chance Taylor.

(She also nurtured and helped raise two special children, Beth Crane and Ann Morris.)

Along with a host of Family and Friends.

Mother Angie Mae will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
