Obituary of Robert Patrick Iturraran

Robert Patrick Iturraran, 58, of Walnut Grove, California, passed away on June 6th, 2023 with his wife Shelly by his side, his 2 daughters Amanda and Melissa, and his son-in-law James. 

Robert was born in Lodi, California on October 24th, 1964, to Denny and Jacqueline Iturraran. He attended Presentation Parish School and Lincoln High School. As an adult he went to Western Truck School and was a truck driver for over 20 years, as well as a member of Teamsters Union Local #439. 

Early in his career he was a long-haul driver and was able to take his wife and children along on some of his many adventures. Even after he retired, he continued to explore California and enjoyed spending his days watching the sunset over the Delta Loop.  

Robert was a pitcher in high school and a devoted San Francisco Giants fan. He enjoyed camping, kayaking, bowling, and shooting pool. He was a lifelong learner who always had something new to share, his favorite subject by far was astronomy.  

Robert battled kidney disease throughout his life and was a cancer survivor as well. Though the odds were stacked against him from early childhood, Robert survived many challenges due to his unbreakable positivity.  

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Shelly, his daughters Amanda and Melissa, and his granddaughter River. A viewing will take place at the Lodi Funeral Home on Thursday June 22nd at 3pm, followed by a Rosary at 6pm.
