Obituary of Joan C. Nesbitt

Stockton resident, Joan C. Nesbitt, passed away on Thursday, September 7th at the age of 85. She was born December 11, 1937 in Minnesota, and has been in San Joaquin County the last 66 years. 

Joan worked as a secretary at Nor Cal Beverage, sold Avon products, and was briefly a bank teller while she raised her children. She absolutely loved to play bingo, whether it was at the Moose Lodge, the casino, or at home while numbers were called out on a local radio station and even at her nursing home. Joan was creative and enjoyed crafting, ceramics, and decoupage. She was skilled enough to make her daughter’s Barbie’s clothes, with tiny, functioning buttons.Joan liked to be with her family and friends and enjoyed her time having coffee and visiting. She will be truly missed. 

Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Antoinette Burleigh, her husband, Kennith Nesbitt, and great-grandchild, Emelia. She is survived by her loving children, Thomas Nesbitt (Julie), and Karen Balcao (Dean); grandchildren, Joseph Bracksieck, Kristine Hackett, Stephanie Nesbitt, and Samantha Judge; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Luciano, Tiana, Sofia, Lillian, Charlie, and Jordyn. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., in Lodi. Joan will be laid to rest and reunited with her husband, Kennith, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella at a later date.
