Germaine Hunter (Vilhauer) of Lodi, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, 9/12/23 after a brief illness and entered God’s glorious kingdom. Germaine was born in Tripp, South Dakota to Esther (Herr) and Adam Vilhauer on September 18, 1930. She married William Hunter in 1984. She worked at AT&T for 30 years and also co-ran a small business with her husband for many years after that in both Sacramento and Lodi. She was a member of Zion Reformed Church in Lodi for many years and had a strong faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Germaine is preceded in death by her husband William Hunter and sister Elaine. Germaine is survived by sister Viva Dell, stepsons Matthew Hunter (spouse Julie) and Scott Hunter, stepdaughter Allison Pirayoff, step granddaughters Rebecca Pierson (spouse Josh), Melissa Taton (spouse Dennis), Madison Hunter and Amanda Hunter, and step grandson Christopher Hunter.

The family of Germaine wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the good care they provided Germaine and the LOEL Senior Center of Lodi for faithfully and lovingly delivering meals to Germaine over the years.

Visitation will be from 1-5 pm on Thursday, 9/28 at Lodi Funeral Home at 725 S. Fairmont in Lodi. Graveside service will be held on Friday, 9/29 at 11:00am at Lodi Memorial Park & Cemetery at 5750 E. Pine Street in Lodi with Pastor Matt Duerr of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Reception will follow at Lodi Funeral Home at 725 S. Fairmont at 12:30pm.
