Obituary of Todd Richard Bunnell

Todd Richard Bunnell passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2023 at the age of 60, while running on a beautiful trail in Half Moon Bay with his fiance Tammy.

Our family was not expecting for Todd’s life to be cut so short so soon. We are all devastated by this huge loss and he will be forever missed. He was born with a naturally sweet and kind soul, a heart of gold, a smile for everyone he met and was always willing to listen to whatever people wanted to tell him.

He had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best in them as well. Todd was an avid lover of the outdoors and animals and spent much of his time surfing, mountain biking, running, wakeboarding, pickleball and bought a season pass to snowboard each winter. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by the love he had for his family.

Born in Lodi, Todd graduated from Lodi High School and Delta College.  He then went on to earn his Bachelor’s in Speech Communications from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo where he was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.  He has spent the last many years living in Redwood City, CA and has had a career in high tech sales roles since graduation. He was also a proud member of the Redwood City Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Dick Bunnell and his mom Dee Bunnell. He will always be remembered with much love by his son Koben Bunnell, his fiancé Tammy Schubert, his sister Karin Bunnell and her husband MB Bettencourt, his nieces Tory, Ashley (Eric), Jessica and Candace (Ben) and many deeply-saddened cousins and extended family. He was also greatly loved and will be greatly missed by the many friends he’d made from growing up in Lodi and throughout his life since.

When you think of Todd, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. He will be missed more than any words could express but he will be forever in our hearts. 

There will be a private internment, but please join us for a Celebration of Todd’s Life to be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 12:00-3:00pm at 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi, CA. 95242, Kirst Hall.  We encourage festive-colored attire.
