Obituary of Carl R. Enos

Please share a memory of Carl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Carl Renard Enos, 86, of Schertz, Texas went to be with our Lord on December 16,
2024.

Carl was born on January 11, 1937, to John R. Enos and Dora M. Underwood at St
Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton, California. He was the youngest of three children after
sister Mildred May Nugent and brother John Raymond Enos, Jr. He spent his childhood
on his family’s dairy farm in Lathrop and French Camp, California. In his early 20’s, he
joined the US Army where he served until 1961. He met the love of his life, Victoria,
while working at Darwin Farm’s Egg Ranch. The two were married in 1968 and went on
to have 5 children, 16 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. Carl enjoyed working as a
truck driver for over 30 years. The family lived in Clements and Valley Springs,
California, ultimately retiring to Schertz, Texas in 2004. Carl and Victoria celebrated 55
years of marriage on July 27, 2023.
Carl never forgot his time on the farm and carried a life- long love of animals. He also
enjoyed listening to music, watching sports, (he was avid Rams fan), and spending time
at home with Vicky and family. Military airplanes were his passion. He attended many
airshows throughout his life and one of his favorite hobbies included building military
airplane models. One of his most memorable experiences involved a weekend trip with
his nephew aboard an aircraft carrier off Hawaii called the Tiger Cruise.
Carl was funny, sarcastic, and had a boisterous laugh. He had a great sense of humor
and facial expressions to match. He was a good Father, doting Grandfather, but above
all else he was a devoted and loving husband.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings Raymond and Mildred, and
niece Sandra. He is survived by his wife Victoria Enos, children Mary von Heiland and
husband Chip, Cathleen Bauer and husband William, Patricia Lozano and husband
Erik, Carl R Enos, Jr, John Enos and wife Kimberley, daughter of his heart Angelina
Cortez and husband Albert Cortez. He is also survived by grandchildren Karl, Valerie,
Victoria, Jude, Jacob, Joseph, Billy, Megan, Alex, David, Emma, Alyssa, Emily, Jackie,
Ethan, and JD, Great grandchild Atlas, and Grandchildren of his heart Stephanie,
Garrett, and Olivia.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that you consider making a donation in Carl’s name to the
American Cancer Society or favorite charity of your choice.
