Obituary of Manuel P. Moitoso
On January 14, 2024, at the age of 79, Manuel P. Moitoso Jr. took his last
breath on earth and his first breath in heaven, peacefully with his wife of 59
years, Tina, by side holding his hand. Manuel was born on September 3,
1944 in Faial, Azores to Manuel and Julia Moitoso. He was the second of
five children; an older sister who died shortly after birth, Maria Julia, Robert
and Albert. He was raised in Faial until the age of 14 when, on January 1,
1959 his family immigrated to the United States.
Manuel met the love of his life, Tina, in 1960 and they were later married in
1964. They were blessed with three children; Mary Rannals (Scott),
Michelle Machado (Frank), and Manuel III (Becky); seven grandchildren;
Amanda Rall (Ryan), Jacob Machado (Ashley), Morgan Machado, Colby
Rannals, Macey Moitoso, Jared Moitoso and Brayden Moitoso; and one
Great granddaughter, Audrey Rall; all of who’s lives he touched with his
love and guidance.
Manuel worked many years in the farm industry, first as a feed salesman,
next as a dairyman, and then he hauled cattle. He was also a devout
Catholic and member of the Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Society. Most
of all, he was a loving family man and dear friend. With his “Gift for gab” he
made friends wherever he went. His home was always the destination for
many gatherings filled with love and laughter
Manuel was preceded in death by his older sister, his parents- Manuel and
Julia Moitoso and many aunts and uncles.
Manuel will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, humorous, hard
working and devout family man. We will all cherish and celebrate his
memory forever.
