Margaret Ann (Blanco) Ergonis, 103, of Lodi, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Formerly from Manteca, and Hayward prior to that, Margaret was born in Ziesing, West Virginia, on December 2, 1920. She is preceded in death by parents, Restituto and Consuelo (Aizpuru) Blanco, brothers, Joe and David, and sister, Sally Blanco. Margaret was a loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Her husband of 55 years, Frank Ergonis, preceded her in death in 2002.  Her son, Resty Ergonis, preceded her in death in 2019. She is survived by sons, Joe (Linda) Ergonis of Frisco, Texas, and Fred (Vicki) Ergonis of Woodbridge, California. Margaret was a devoted grandmother to 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She lived a remarkably long, happy, and healthy life, enjoying her family and friends most of all. Margaret was the foundation of a large, loving family whom she cherished every moment of her life. Margaret had an immense love for her grandkids and spent the last forty years devoting her life to being the most dedicated, loving grandmother to them. She was an avid card player, traveler, and sports enthusiast. She was proud to be a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, as well as St. Anthony’s in Manteca, and St. Bede’s in Hayward. Margaret spent many hours volunteering her time in support of these communities. She also volunteered tirelessly at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Manteca, as well as Hutchins Street Square here in Lodi.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 215 W. Walnut St., in Lodi. The committal will follow at 2:00 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Rd., in Santa Nella, where Margaret will be reunited with her beloved husband, Frank.
