Delorise "Lady" Rawlins was born September 1, 1929, in Grand Cane, Louisiana, to Herman and Gennie Hudson. She was one of eight children and as the middle sibling, she had a strong personality. In 1948, Herman and Gennie Hudson relocated their family from Louisiana to Chicot, Arkansas.  She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized by Pastor Clark at New Holley Grove Baptist Church. 

Delorise joined Emanuel Baptist Church and became a dedicated member for 43 years sitting on the Usher Board.  She committed her time, energy, and resources to a variety of church activities. 

She married Earl Rawlins on May 17, 1980, in San Francisco, CA.  For years she worked at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, California as a Certified Home Health Aide.  She retired in 1993.  

In 1994, she moved to Thornton, CA with her husband and continued her work as an usher at Community Missionary Baptist Church.   She enjoyed fishing and gardening. She had many fishing buddies: Clyde, Cloid, Carolyn, and Pamela. 

Delorise passed peacefully from this life the morning of May 21,2024. She leaves to cherish her memory many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Gennie Hudson, husband Earl Rawlins, Son: James Edward Hudson, Sisters: Rebecca Walker, Lazell Robinson, Marie Brown and Charlesetta Kirkwood, Brothers: Herman Hudson, Ulysses Hudson and Reverend W. L Hudson.
