Obituary of Cena Gutierrez

Cena Louisa Gutierrez, age 79, long-time resident of Lodi, passed away on April 2, 2010, in Roseville, California with her family at her side. She was born on July 2, 1930, in Ithaca, New York to Edmund Miles and Mildred Rosina Georgia. Cena served in the U.S. Navy, specializing in communications. She was a loving mother and homemaker and spent countless hours working at the Lodi Public Library. Cena enjoyed sewing, cooking, and crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She had a great passion for opera music, especially Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. Cena was a member of the Methodist Church in New York. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Gutierrez is survived by her aunt: Marion Kellogg; her children: Bill (Marilyn) Sedgeman, Phil Sedgeman, Alicia (Keith) Scott, Tedd Gutierrez (John Murray), Antonio (Karen) Gutierrez, Amy (Mike) Hansen, Andres (Cheryl) Gutierrez, and Esther Simas; grandchildren: Benjamin, Sally, Rhiannon, Amanda, Jacob, Sara, Dana, Tina, Andres, Simone, and Zachary; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Edmund Georgia, Jr., her son: Edmund Gutierrez, and her companion: Mervin "Big Chief" Raglan. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. There is no visitation and committal is private.
