Obituary of Christine Jane "Bibbes" Brock

Christine Jane (Bibbes) Brock, age 49, of Lodi, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on December 14, 2008. She was born on August 29, 1959, in San Mateo, CA to Peter George and Frances (Darzentas) Bibbes. Christine obtained her Bachelor's Degree from San Jose State University and later received her teaching credentials from California State University, Stanislaus. Most recently she worked as a sixth grade teacher at Sutherland Elementary School in Stockton. In 1984, she married the love of her life, Stephen Brock, and together they have two wonderful children. Christine was a marathon runner and was able to run her last marathon in December of 2007. She also loved to read and always enjoyed working with children. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Brock is survived by her husband of 24 years: Stephen Brock of Lodi; children: Dyana Christine Brock and David Edward Brock of Lodi; parents: Peter and Frances Bibbes of San Mateo; siblings: George (Colleen) Bibbes, Theodore (Dawn) Bibbes, Gregory Bibbes, and Diana (Blaise) D'Angelo; and nieces and nephews: Aidan, Zoe, Basil, and Charlotte. A Trisagion service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at 7 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. in Lodi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, at 11 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross, 900 Alameda de las Pulgas, in Belmont with committal to follow at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 and Skyline Blvd., in San Mateo.
