Obituary of Stella J Morris

Stella J Morris of Lodi, formerly of Lockeford, passed away in Stockton on July 10, 2006 at the age of 89. Mrs. Morris was born in Mace Springs, Virginia on August 14, 1916 to Charles M. and Mary Elizabeth Bayes. Her family left Mace Springs when she was three years old and moved to Kingsport, Tennessee where she grew up and attended school. She returned to Virginia in 1930 and moved to Stockton in 1934. She married James Devincenzi in 1934 and lived in Stockton for eighteen years. She moved to Lockeford in 1955 and married Lewis Morris in 1957. She enjoyed gardening, arranging flowers for church, sewing, music, singing and playing the auto harp and guitar. She was a long-time member of the Lockeford Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lockeford-Clements Chamber of Commerce, Live Oak Rebekah Lodge #89 and the Lockeford-Clements Women's Club. She is survived by her daughter, Charmie Allison of Lockeford, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Morris; son, James Devincenzi; three sisters, Charmie Bayes, Elva Beem and Alma Reeves; three brothers, Dewey, Stanley and Coy Bayes. Friends are invited to visit on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home chapel. Committal will immediately follow at Glen View Cemetery in Clements.
