Mr. Franklin F. Woods life long resident of Lodi passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family in a Lodi hospital at the age of 84. Mr. Woods was born December 14, 1921 at St. Joseph Hospital, Stockton, California to Fredrick and Amelia Woods. Mr. Woods worked as a welderand machinist for Lodi Super Mold for many years as well as Carandos Machine Shop and Cozad Trailer Manufacturing in Stockton before retiring in January 1987. Mr. Woods attended and graduated from Lodi High School Class of 1939. He was a proud United States Army Staff Sergeant and WWII Veteran, honorable discharged January 1947. Mr. Woods was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and was a very active member and volunteer leader for 46 years in the local 4-H Community Club and volunteer leader at Sectional and State levels. San Joaquin County Fair advisors for the Youth Advisory Council, and the Portuguese U.P.P.E.C Civic Club Council 123. He was a member of the machinist union and the Woodbridge Grange #482. He had a talent for welding crafts, known for "Strike it Rich, Trash to Treasures". He enjoyed upholstering, farming, gardening, traveling, and inventing new ideas. He will be most remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, mostly for his willingness to help and for bringing out the best in others. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rosemarie Woods of Lodi; 2 sons, Michael Woods and wife Patricia of Modesto; Wayne Woods and wife Cheryl of Stockton; 5 grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Woods of Modesto; Melissa Kasarjian and husband Michael of Atascadero; Jackie Woods of Fresno; John Woods of Stockton; extended family and dear friends. A church service will be held Wednesday May 17, 2006, 11:00 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church, followed by interment at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16 from 12:00-8:00. A rosary will be held Tuesday at 6:30pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be sent to, San Joaquin County 4H Council, 420 S.
