Obituary of Enrica Bacani

Enrica "Rita" Bacani of Lodi died of natural causes peacefully with her loving family surrounding her at the age of 99 on May 13, 2006 in Lodi. Mrs. Bacani was born in Italy on November 27, 1906 to Domenico and Elisa Cuppoletti. She married Pietro Bacani in Italy in 1930, and moved to Michigan the same year. They moved to Lodi in 1947 where she has since resided. She loved to cook for her family and friends, but her greatest passion was being with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be so dearly missed by all who loved her. She was a long-time member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mrs. Bacani is survived by her daughter, Irma(Ross) Westbrook of Lodi; "son", Mike Lapenta of Lodi; grandchildren, Robert Lapenta, Ross (Elizabeth) Westbrook, Rita(Chris) Neudeck, Peter (Colleen Lawrence) Westbrook, Perry (Kathy) Westbrook; seven great- grandchildren, Christopher Westbrook, Elise Neudeck, Michael Neudeck, Oliver Westbrook, Warren Westbrook, Belinda Westbrook, and Isabella Westbrook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pietro Bacani in October of 1978 and her daughter, Lisa Lapenta in February of 2006; three brothers and two sisters. Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A chapel service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with committal to follow.
