Joseph L. Oaxaca of Lodi passed away in Lodi on May 4, 2006 at the age of 61. Mr. Oaxaca was born in Fresno, Calif., on April 29, 1945 to Alfred and Hilda Oaxaca. He grew up in the Fresno area. In 1963, he joined the U.S. Marines, serving until 1967. On June 26, 1965, he married Anita Lopez in Fresno. They moved to Madera in 1975, and in 1989, they came to Lodi where they have since resided. Mr. Oaxaca was self-employed, the owner of Coyote Trucking. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and Micke Grove Men's Golf Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing, but his greatest love was time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Anita Oaxaca of Lodi; son, Dominic (Rhonda) Oaxaca of Lodi; daughter, Rosalind (Don) Moffett of Tampa Bay, Florida; five grandchildren, Jackson, Catherine and Madeline Moffett, Caleb and Cassandra Oaxaca; mother, Hilda Oaxaca of Fresno; three brothers, Alex (Maria) Oaxaca of Fresno, Rudy (Magda) Oaxaca of Sanger and Oscar (Rosie) Oaxaca of Clovis and step-sister, Juanita Magana of San Diego. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends are invited to visit at Lodi Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Committal will be private. Memorial remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
