Obituary of William L. McDannald

Mr. William L. McDannald of Lodi went to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 2, 2006 in a Lodi hospital after a long bout with Cancer at the age of 88. Mr. McDannald was born April 30, 1918 in Pollock, Missouri to James and Anna McDannald. Mr. McDannald worked as the West Coast Regional Manager for FMC Chemical Corp (Niagara) in Fresno, California for 36 years before retiring in 1983. Mr. McDannald was an active member of many churches during his life and recently attended Century Assembly of God Church in Lodi. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He had many adventures, and enjoyed sharing stories with family and friends. He also enjoyed working in his shop and made many fine pieces of furniture including, a hope chests for his daughter and granddaughters, also a roll top desk for his grandson. He will be best remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, mostly for his integrity, loyalty and his fairness with others. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lura McDannald of Lodi; 1 daughter Janet Longstreth and husband Bruce of Stockton; daughter in-law Kris McDannald of Lodi; 1 brother, Otis McDannald of Missouri; 1 sister, Icle Woodcock of Columbia, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, Lori Liddicoat of Lodi; Kara Rappuhn of Mobile, Alabama; Matthew McDannald of Lodi; Abby Longstreth of Winston Salem, North Carolina; 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Katie and Hannah Rappuhn of Mobile, Alabama. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Lee O. McDannald in 2003. A memorial service will be held Friday May 5, 2006, 11:00 am at Century Assembly Church in Lodi. A private interment will be held at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday 12:0 -8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.
