Obituary of Roy Marian Coffin

Roy Marian Coffin, a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away on April 20, 2006 in Lodi at the age of 90. Mr. Coffin was born in Amoret, Missouri to Vaughn Leon and Ela Selena Coffin on August 10, 1915. He moved to Long Beach in 1935. On May 24, 1939, he married Gloria Wilhelm. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1947. Roy moved his family to Lodi in 1957 where he worked for Cal West Seed as a system designer for at least 21 years before he retired. He enjoyed any type of outdoor activity, camping, hiking, and he particularly enjoyed gardening. He was a member of English Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church. Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Gloria Coffin of Lodi; son, Dennie (Janice) Coffin of West River, MD; two grandchildren, Britt Monique (Kenneth) McCormick of Ellicott City, MD and Daren Leroy Coffin of Gaithersburg, MD; two great-grandsons, Garrett and Connor McCormick and sister, Wilma Englehardt of Harrisonville, MO. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Friends are invited to visit on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Young officiating. Graveside services will be private at Lincoln Cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be made to Lodi Academy, 1230 S. Central, Lodi,CA 95240.
