Obituary of Huston H. Ketcherside

Huston H. Ketcherside of Lodi passed away in Lodi on April 11, 2006 at the age of 72. Mr. Ketcherside was born in Tupelo, Oklahoma on May 1, 1933 to James and Oscie Ketcherside. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1951-1954. He married Wanda Snider in Oklahoma City, and they moved to Lodi in April of 1955. He trained in body/fender repair at Stockton College, graduating with an A.A. degree. He went on to become a small business owner and eventually an insurance broker, owner of Berry Insurance Company, retiring in 1999. Mr. Ketcherside was also a gentleman farmer, growing cherries and walnuts, and at one time grapes. He enjoyed outdoor sports and woodworking. He attended Temple Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Wanda Ketcherside of Lodi; son, Mark Edwin (Cindy) Ketcherside of Stockton; three grandchildren, Shanell (Dillon) Longmire of Hanford, Hannah Ketcherside of Stockton and Joshua James Lang of Medford, Oregon; three brothers, Don (Marsha) Ketcherside of Owasso, OK, Vern (Doris) Ketcherside of Valley Springs, and Gary Ketcherside of MO; two sisters, Linda (Dick) Murrell of Chanute, KS and Joyce (Bill ) Matlock of Iola, KS. Huston was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he will be so dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn Kay Lang, in August of 2005 and three brothers, Eugene, Leroy and Charles Ketcherside. Friends are invited to visit on Monday at Lodi Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Temple Baptist Church on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Perry Kallis officiating.
