Obituary of Lucy E. Neely

Lucy E. Neely, a long-time resident of Stockton passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the age of 83. Mrs. Neely was born in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma on January 16, 1923 to Willy and Dolly Ragsdale. She married Lucian "Hoot" Neely on June 16, 1942 in Waggner, Oklahoma, and they moved to California in 1946. Mrs. Neely had been the manager of the Sears Coffee Shop for 23 years before she retired. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in Lodi. She enjoyed RV'ing and traveling; however, her whole life revolved around the well-being of her family. She will be so very dearly missed. Mrs. Neely is survived by her two sons, Lucian (Cynthia) Neely, Jr. and George (Nancy) Neely, both of Lodi; three grandchildren, Shauna, Sol and Steven; three great-granddaughters, Lauren, Kathryn and Kalista; two sisters, Jessie (Dale) Kunkleman of Okay, OK and Myrtle Rhyne of Jones, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian "Hoot" Neely, Sr. on July 7, 2004 and sister, Wylene Blevins. Services will be held on Sunday, April 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist with Rev. Fr. Richard Matters officiating. Committal will immediately follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial remembrances be made to the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist Building Fund, 1005 S. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, CA 95240 or Alzheimer's Aid Society, 105 S. Washington, Lodi, CA 95240.
