Eugene "Gene" Rolandelli. Jr., of Lodi passed away in Stockton at the age of 74 on Friday, March 31, 2006. Mr. Rolandelli was born in Oakland, CA on August 20, 1931 to Eugenio and Colomba Rolandelli. He graduated from Oakland Technical High School and later attended San Francisco State. In 1946 he became a member of the Weldonians in Oakland, becoming an instructor when he was very young. In 1948, he entered the Air National Guard, joining the 561st Air Force Band until his retirement in 1991. He retired as a senior master sergeant, having been one of the longest playing members. Early in his life he was a partner in the Oakland Scavengers. He left Oakland in 1956, moving to Hayward and settling in Danville in 1966 where he owned Danville Music and Dance Studio. He was active in civic affairs in Danville. He lived in the San Ramon area, eventually settling in Lodi in 2001. Gene is survived by his four children; Steven (Colette) Rolandelli of Richardson, TX, Kristen (Jeff) Call of Patterson, Suzan (Eric) Morris of Grass Valley and Monica (Mike) Hartung of Lodi; 10 grandchildren; Tara Rolandelli, Angela Watkins, Monica and Natalie Call, Haley, Andrea, Julia and Hannah Morris, Janae Neuvert and Kevin Hartung; sister, Angela Mecchi of Oakland. A service to celebrate Gene's life will be held on Friday, April 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel. There is no visitation, and committal is private. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of donor's choice.
