Obituary of Ida Taormina

Ida Taormina, a 57 year resident of Lodi passed away on March 16, 2006 at the age of 94. Mrs. Taormina was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 28, 1912 to Frank and Rose Balestrieri. She married Sam Taormina in 1928. She enjoyed lapidary work, ceramics, sewing and working with her son in Paul's Lock & Key Shop, but her greatest love was her family, and she will be so very missed. She had been a long-time member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mrs. Taormina is survived by her children; Sam (Fedora) Taormina of San Rafael, Frank (Emily) Taormina of Lodi, Rose (Aldo) Freggiaro of Stockton, Paul (Donna) Taormina of Lodi and Charles Taormina of Lodi; 15 grandchildren, Rosanne, Sal, Tony, Carolyn, Frank, Pattie, Evette, Annette, Aldo, III, Sam, Tony, Christine, Paul, Jr., Casey and Chuckie; 26 great-grandchildren and one sister, Kelly Kamarda of Pittsburgh, PA; She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Taormina, sister, Mary Galioto and two brothers, Charles and Henry Balestrieri. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Nathan White as celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit Monday from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Committal is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to charity of donor's choice.
