Obituary of Eva Montoya Gutierrez

Eva Montoya Gutierrez of Lodi passed away in Lodi on March 9, 2006 at the age of 75. Eva was born on April 16, 1929 in Colorado to William and Manuelita Gutierrez. Eventually she moved to New Mexico living in the towns of Turley and Richmond for a total of 35 years. In 1970 she moved with her family to Sacramento, settling in Lodi in 1993. Her life was devoted to the care of her family who were the most important part of her life. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and music. She also studied with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She is survived by her five children; Louis (Lupita) Montoya, Jr., of Bloomfield, N.M., Irene Morales of Santa Clara, N.M., Ray Montoya of Turley, N.M., Gloria (Apolonio) Rodriguez of Lodi and Catalina (Pedro) Hernandez of Sacramento; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; siblings, Benny (Fidela) Gutierrez of Turley, N.M., William (Lea) Gutierrez of Magna, UT, Leopoldo (Margaret) Gutierrez of Sacramento, Manuel (Margarita) Gutierrez of Farmington, N.M. and Faye Lobato of Farmington, N.M. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Montoya, Sr., son, Anthony Montoya, mother, Manuelita Gutierrez, grandson, Carlos Montoya and sister, Sergia Vallejo. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with Don Bryant of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses conducting the service. Friends are invited to visit Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until the service time. Committal will be private.
