Obituary of Lois Collins

Mrs. Lois Collins of Lodi passed away Tuesday March 7, 2006 in a Lodi hospital at the age of 86. Mrs. Collins was born October 26, 1919 in St. Paul, Arkansas to John and Ella Groseclos. Mrs. Collins owned and operated Eastside Beauty Shop for many years before retiring in 1973. Mrs. Collins married her late husband Joseph W. Collins in 1941 and moved to Lodi in 1946. Mrs. Collins was a long time member of the Church of Christ in Stockton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by 2 sons, John Collins and wife Carolyn of Reno, Nevada; Joe Collins and wife Toni of Palmer, Alaska; 1 daughter, Ella Bender and husband Dean of Volcano; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in dearth by her loving husband of 15 years, Joseph W. Collins in 1956, and a sister, Beulah Barling in 1996. A chapel service will be held Saturday March 11, 2006, 11:00 am at the Lodi Funeral Home, followed by a private interment at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday 12:00 -6:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be sent to the charity of donor's choice.
