Luther "Lou" Spaulding of Santa Rosa, formerly of the Jackson area passed away in Santa Rosa on March 2, 2006 at the age of 92. Mr. Spaulding was born in Washington, IN on August 18, 1913 to Roy and Alta Spaulding. He eventually moved to Oakland and then he moved to Mt. View, settling in the Jackson area, Pine Grove. He had been employed as a superintendent for the Jackson Water Company, Citizen Utilities for at least 20 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to various parts of Europe, and he particularly enjoyed traveling to Hawaii. He was a long-time member of Sutter Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as a deacon and then an elder. When he moved to Santa Rosa, he became a member of the Santa Rosa SDA Church. Mr. Spaulding is survived by his wife, Elvina Spaulding of Santa Rosa; daughter, Janice Simmons of Sacramento; step-children, Marlene Carr of Santa Rosa, Don Schumaker of Minden, NV, Audrey Williams of Sacramento and Gary Schumaker of Sacramento; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Spaulding; brother, Maurice Spaulding and step-daughter, Karen Seibly. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery, Lodi. There is no visitation.
