Jacob G. Keszler passed away after a lengthy illness on March 1, 2006 at the age of 87 in Lodi. He was the caring father of Rollin and wife Andrea Keszler of Madison, Alabama, Susan and husband Mel Potter of Galt and Cheryl and husband Mike Davies of Clovis, CA; six grandchildren, Mark Potter, Lorie and husband, Lee Stahlecker, Jenney and husband Joe Cotta, Amanda and Jacob Keszler, Kelly Kingston; five great-grandchildren, Kendrick, Sebastian, Daijah, Joey and Kristopher; two brothers, John Keszler and wife Irene; Dr. Chris Keszler and wife LaVeta; two sisters, Emma Hein and Ellen Lewis, all of Lodi. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Schaut) Keszler, sister, Esther Mohr and second wife, LaVon Keszler. He was born in Washborn, South Dakota on October 16, 1918. He moved with his family to Washington State in 1929 and then to Lodi in 1931. Jacob enjoyed farming and retired as a maintenance supervisor from Guild Winery in 1981. He loved life, the grandeur of nature and people. He served as a deacon at Zion Reformed Church for nine years, was a member of Dak. Club, Moose Club and active in Boy Scouts for many years. His interests included gardening, camping, fishing and especially time with family and friends. In 1942 he entered the Army Air Corp, serving as flight engineer in B24 heavy bombers of the 15th Air Force in North Africa and Italy. Among his many Commendations are two Purple Hearts for wounds received in air combat, Prisoner of War and Outstanding Service. His family extends their deepest appreciation to their friends for their care and support at this time. In lieu of flowers, they request memorial contributions be made to Zion Reformed Church, 101 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA 95242. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Lodi Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held at Zion Reformed Church on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Committal is private.
