Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James H. Everett, of Lockeford, passed away on February 5, 2006 at the age of 88. He was known by many as "Papa Jim," with a bright smile that lit up the room. He was born in England on December 23, 1917. He retired from PCP can plant as a tool and dye technician. Jim enjoyed motorcycling, camping and had a great love for children. Jim proudly volunteered at the American Cancer Society and later went on to volunteer his time at Lawrence School, reading with children and being a teacher's aid, which he enjoyed dearly. For the last two years of his life, he attended the Hutchins Street Square Adult Day Center where he loved to play bingo with friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwennie Morgan of Wales, marrying on July 3, 1940, with a loving marriage lasting 55 years. He also has nieces and nephews, including grand and great nieces and nephews overseas who will remember him. Most of all, he will be remembered by a vast number of neighbors and friends that were very close to him. Friends are invited to attend a memorial graveside service on Monday, February 20th, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, 5750 E. Pine Street. Lodi. A reception will immediately follow.
