Obituary of Irving Jacob Wolf

Irving Jacob Wolf of Lodi, CA, passed away in Lodi on February 14, 2006 at the age of 87. Mr. Wolf was born in Staten Island, NY on August 29, 1918 to Morris and Bella Wolf. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Lowell Institute of Technology College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1945, Lt. Senior Grade, Commander of PT and air sea rescue boats. He was involved in commando raids off the coast of Yugoslavia. He worked for Lisle Mills and Walter Moyer Mills as a textile engineer in R & D. Mr. Wolf was the textile engineer who developed the first flame retardant fabric for infants and children. His former residences were in NJ, PA, FL. He moved to Lodi in 2005 with his wife, Rose. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and gardening. He had been a member of the VFW. Mr. Wolf is survived by his beloved wife, Rose Wolf of Lodi, children, James (Marilyn) Wolf of Acampo, CA, Mitchell (Monica) Wolf of Quincy, MA and Melissa Wolgemuth of Shillington, PA; four grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Wolf, Aimee Crowley and John Wolgemuth; one great-grandchild, Dillon Crowley and brother, Sylvan Wolf of Southern California. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Wolf. Services and committal were private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.
