Obituary of Barbara Rigopoulos

Barbara Rigopoulos, a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the age of 82 in Lodi. Mrs. Rigopoulos was born in New York City, N.Y. to Peter and Theoni Zimzores on December 4, 1923. She came to California in 1955 with her family and settled in Lodi. She enjoyed cooking, trips to Bodega Bay and abalone, clam and mussel diving. Her greatest love was her family and the care of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be so very dearly missed. She had been a member of St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church. Mrs. Rigopoulos is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Rigopoulos of Lodi; two daughters, Sophia Gienger of Lodi and Sonia "Sunny" Groom-Cimarrustti, husband, Rene Andre Cimarrustti of Lodi; sons, Christopher (Tammy) Rigopoulos and Peter (Kathy) Zimzores of Stockton; five grandchildren, Michael Groom, Andrew and Christopher Rigopoulos and Tyron and Terry Schuler; six great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Paige, Melissa, Jeremy, Alexys and Arianna. A Chapel service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Luke Palumbis officiating. Committal will immediately follow. The Trisagion will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Lodi Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
