Armando T. Guerra, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Lodi on Monday, December 26, 2005. He was born March 6, 1928 in Del Rio, Texas. He came to California in 1952 with his beautiful wife of 55 years, Alice Guerra. Armando settled in San Jose, where he was a machinist by trade for nearly 40 years. He was an avid golfer and a member of "Los Amigos" Golf Club. In addition to his desire for golf, Armando was a competitive bowler which he enjoyed playing regularly in a league. He always applied his competitive nature to every aspect of his life. He made it a point to make the best of himself and of his family. Armando was one who always enjoyed telling stories with friends and family, even during a tough game of canasta. His true happiness was expressed through his devotion to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Some of Armando's fondest moments were partaking in the activities that his great-grandchildren enjoyed, ranging from playing baseball to watching cartoons. He is survived by his wife, Alice Guerra of Lodi; daughter Sydia (Manuel) Lemos of Lake Tahoe, son, Gary Guerra of Concord and daughter, Becky (Gary) Van Es of Stockton; grandchildren, Michael Lemos, Yvette Sharifnejad, Janelle Van Es, Stacy Lemos and Shante Van Es; great-grandchildren, Kristin Lemos, Jordan Sharifnejad, Skyler Gaumont and Teaghen Sharifnejad; siblings, Hortencia Segura, Evelio Guerra, Edelmira Garza, Lydia Chavez and Richard Guerra. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jesus Guerra and sister, Eva Faz. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with Father Nathan White officiating. Committal will immediately follow. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Thursday at 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., continuing Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the service.
