Lionel L. (Lon) Sturman passed away December 25, 2005, at the age of 88. He was born in Los Angeles on June 25, 1917, to Lionel and Charlotte Sturman. His family moved to Georgetown when he was a small child, and Lon enjoyed a childhood of hunting, fishing and gold mining. Lon enjoyed a successful career with Cal Western Life Insurance until his retirement in 1966. He also sold real estate for Aladdin Real Estate from 1972 - 1977. Lon loved spending time with his family, traveling the world, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and minding his investments. Lon will be missed by his wife of 62 years Phyllis (Penny) Sturman, his daughters Diane Sturman and Elaine Kildall, his son James Sturman, son-in-law David Kildall, daughter-in-law Misty Sturman, and his grandchildren Joshua and Melissa Sturman. He is reunited with his daughter, Cathy. A service celebrating Lon's life will be conducted by Pastor Randy Bowman on Friday, December 30, 2005, 11:30 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Avenue, Lodi. There is no visitation, and committal is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204-1953; The Salvation Army, 525 W. Lockeford St., Lodi, Ca 95240, or Hope Harbor, 622 N. Sacramento Street, Lodi, CA 95240.
